Network Manager Protocol view of its managed IS-IS topology demonstrates how Network Protocol Manager for IS-IS models (represents) its managed IS-IS topology. The underlying physical-transport objects in the model, shown as white rectangles, are managed by IP Availability Manager. As such, Network Protocol Manager for IS-IS receives the status of these objects from IP Availability Manager.

Not all of the underlying physical-transport objects that are understood by Network Protocol Manager for IS-IS are shown in Figure 18. For example, Network Protocol Manager for IS-IS also understands Cable and TrunkCable objects. In addition, the network cloud in Figure 18 represents various types of connections between the two physical interfaces that are underlying the IS-IS adjacency, including connections between ports on intermediate switches.
