Attributes for ISISInterface lists some key attributes for ISISInterface. Network Protocol Manager for IS-IS uses these and other attributes to diagnose IS-IS network and interface problems, and to detect IS-IS interface events.

Table 1. Attributes for ISISInterface

Attribute

Description

Allowed values

AreaID

A variable number from 1 to 13 bytes that identifies the area number for the device for this IS-IS interface.

Integer

HelloInterval

Length of time, in seconds, between the Hello packets that the device sends on this IS-IS interface.

Integer

Must be the same for all devices attached to a common network.

IfType

Type of this IS-IS interface.

Enum:

  • BROADCAST

  • NBMA

  • POINT_TO_POINT

  • POINT_TO_MULTIPOINT

IPAddress

IP address of this IS-IS interface.

String: IpAddress, an application-wide type that represents a 32-bit value

IsPassive

True if this IS-IS interface is configured as passive.

Boolean: true or false

MulticastForwarding

Way in which multicasts are forwarded on this IS-IS interface. Data link multicasting is not meaningful on NBMA or point-to-point interfaces.

String:

  • DISABLED

  • BLOCKED

  • MULTICAST

  • UNICAST

PollInterval

For this IS-IS interface, the larger time interval, in seconds, between the Hello packets sent to an inactive NBMA neighbor.

Integer

RouterPriority

Priority assigned to the device of this IS-IS interface, used in multi-access networks for the DIS election algorithm.

Integer

0 signifies that the device is not eligible to become the DIS on this particular network segment. If the devices on a network segment have the same priority, the devices use their system ID to determine the DIS.

SystemID

A 6-byte (48-bit) integer that uniquely identifies throughout the entire IS-IS domain the device on which this IS-IS service is running.

String

TransitDelay

Estimated number of seconds to transmit a link-state update packet over this IS-IS interface.

Integer
