Deploy the three-node universal NSX Controller cluster in Region B for logical switching and routing in and across the clusters and regions in the SDDC.
Procedure
- In a Web browser, log in to vCenter Server by using the vSphere Client.
Settings Value URL https://lax01m01vc01.lax01.rainpole.local/ui User name administrator@vsphere.local Password vsphere_admin_password - Deploy the universal controller cluster in Region B.
You deploy three NSX Controller nodes with the same configuration.
- In the Networking and security inventory, click Installation and upgrade.
- On the Management tab, click the NSX Controller nodes tab.
- From the NSX Manager drop-down menu, select 172.17.11.65.
- Under Controller nodes, click the Add icon.
- If you deploy the first NSX Controller node, in the Add Controller dialog box, configure the settings and click Next.
Setting Value Password mgmtnsx_controllers_password Confirm Password mgmtnsx_controllers_password - In the Deployment & connectivity dialog box, configure the settings and click Finish.
Setting Value Name - lax01m01nsxc01 for the first NSX Controller
- lax01m01nsxc02 for the second NSX Controller
- lax01m01nsxc03 for the third NSX Controller

- Synchronize the state of the newly deployed controllers by using the Update Controller State mechanism on the NSX Manager instance in Region B.
An Update Controller State operation pushes the current VXLAN and universal distributed logical router configuration from NSX Manager to the NSX Controller cluster.
- In the Networking and security inventory, click Installation and Upgrade.
- On the Management tab, click the NSX Managers tab and select the 172.17.11.65 instance.
- From the Actions drop-down menu, select Update Controller сtate.
- In the Update Controller сtate dialog box, click Yes.
- Configure the DRS anti-affinity VM/Host rule for the newly deployed NSX Controller nodes.
- In the Hosts and clusters inventory, expand the lax01m01vc01.lax01.rainpole.local tree and expand the lax01-m01dc data center.
- Select the lax01-m01-mgmt01 cluster.
- Click the Configure tab and under Configuration, select VM/Host rules.
- To create an anti-affinity rule, in the VM/Host rules list, click Add.
- In the Create VM/Host rule dialog box, configure the settings and click OK.
