Patches in vRealize Suite Lifecycle Manager

This section contains information about patch 1 in vRealize Suite Lifecycle Manager 8.1.

What's New?

Symptoms

This section describes the bugs and their solution that were resolved in this patch.

Row Summary Symptom Solution
1 VMware Identity Manager update server precheck fails for a VMware Identity Manager upgrade, even when you opt for an offline upgrade. VMware Identity Manager update server check is required only for VMware default repository. The check is mostly required for online upgrades. If you are using an older version of vRealize Suite Lifecycle Manager, you can skip or ignore this precheck for an offline upgrade and proceed further.
2 Mapping vRealize Automation 8.x Install OVA in vRealize Suite Lifecycle Manager is not automated
  • vRealize Automation 8.x Install OVA mapping in vRealize Suite Lifecycle Manager UI if the mapping is not present.
  • If a corrupt file is present in the vrslcm contentrepo.
  • You can perform a Local or NFS source mapping of vRealize Automation 8.x install OVA file after placing the vRealize Suite Lifecycle Manager Easy installer in LCM/data folder or NFS location.
  • Alternatively, vRealize Automation 8.x install can be mapped using My VMware Source mapping option where vRealize Suite Lifecycle Manager Easy installer ISO file corresponding to the vRealize Automation version will be downloaded and extracted to obtain the required OVA file.

Scale out operation of vRealize Automation 8.x cannot be performed on a vRealize Automation setup which has a patch installed.

If there is a mismatch in the version, then vRealize Automation 8.x scale out fails. The vRealize Suite Lifecycle Manager 8.1 Installation Guide provides a detailed procedure to handle Scale out patched environments. For more information, see Scale-out of Patched Environments.
4 vRealize Automation 8.x upgrade repository URL is using http instead of https. When http upgrade repository URL is used instead of https,vRealize Automation 8.x upgrade fails at prepare upgrade.
5 The upgrade failure error message in vRealize Automation 7.x does not clearly specify what has failed. vRealize Automation 7.x upgrade failure does not contain the details of what has failed in vRealize Automation and the failure was not captured in vRealize Suite Lifecycle Manager request page.
6 The VC credentials provided in the Retry option of the failed Inventory sync is not persistent. The VC credentials provided in the Retry option of the failed inventory sync because of  invalid credentials are not getting persisted. This causes the next sync to fail.

A error message occurs when VC credentials are added:

Password mismatch between retry inputs and password in VC in Datacenter
7 contentEndpiontVersion value is set as 7.x for vRealize Orchestrator packages regardless of capturing from any endpoint version. vRealize Orchestrator content will be deployed successfully from vRealize Suite Lifecycle Manager. But the vRealize Orchestrator endpoint does not display the deployed content.
