Note: Before you start the installation process, read the latest vSphere Bitfusion release notes and ensure that your environment meets the minimum system requirements. See System requirements for vSphere Bitfusion.

The steps to successfully install vSphere Bitfusion are as follows.

  1. How to install the primary vSphere Bitfusion server

Install the primary vSphere Bitfusion server by using the vSphere Bitfusion OVA. Then the primary vSphere Bitfusion server registers a plug-in with vCenter Server. You use the vSphere Bitfusion plug-in to perform some of the following installation tasks and manage vSphere Bitfusion.

  2. (Optional) How to install subsequent vSphere Bitfusion servers

Install additional vSphere Bitfusion servers by using the vSphere Bitfusion plug-in. The plug-in uses the configuration data of the primary server, which allows faster deployment of the subsequent servers.

  3. How to install the vSphere Bitfusion client

Install the vSphere Bitfusion client on any machine, that runs a supported Linux operating system.

  4. How to activate a vSphere Bitfusion client

You use the vSphere Bitfusion plug-in to activate the virtual machine of a vSphere Bitfusion client. Then the client has authorized access to all vSphere Bitfusion servers in the cluster.

  5. (Optional) How to test your vSphere Bitfusion deployment

Test your vSphere Bitfusion deployment by using a script. The script automates the process of installing additional dependencies for vSphere Bitfusion and a GPU benchmark.
