Depending on your requirement, you can move hosts out of a fault domain.

Prerequisites

Verify that the host is online. You cannot move hosts that are offline or unavailable from a fault domain.

Procedure

  1. Navigate to the vSAN cluster.
  2. Click the Configure tab.
  3. Under vSAN, click Fault Domains.

    Option

    Description

    vSphere Client

    1. Expand an existing fault domain to view its member hosts.

    2. Select the host that you want to move and click the Move hosts out of fault domain icon. You also can click and drag the host out of the fault domain.

    vSphere Web Client

    1. Select the host that you want to move and click the Move hosts out of fault domain icon.

    2. Click Yes.
