Depending on your requirement, you can move hosts out of a fault domain.

Prerequisites

Verify that the host is online. You cannot move hosts that are offline or unavailable from a fault domain.

Procedure

  1. Navigate to the vSAN cluster.
  2. Click the Configure tab.
  3. Under vSAN, click Fault Domains.
    Option Description
    vSphere Client
    1. Click and drag the host from the fault domain to the Standalone Hosts area.
    2. Click Move to confirm.
    vSphere Web Client
    1. Select the host that you want to move and click the Move hosts out of fault domain icon.
    2. Click Yes.

Results

The selected host is no longer part of the fault domain. Any host that is not part of a fault domain is considered to reside in its own single-host fault domain.
