Domain separation is supported in the ServiceNow ITSM plugin when an admin activates the domain separation plugins and configures an endpoint in a particular domain so that all the data such as catalog items, projects, day-2 actions, deployments, and resources are imported into that domain.

The requirements to support domain separation:

  • You need to activate the two domain separation plugins before installing the VMware vRealize Automation ITSM plugin for ServiceNow.

  • You must be the system administrator to create an endpoint.

  • You should select any domain from the domain picker while creating an endpoint because all the data will be fetched into that domain.

  • Ensure to delete all the entries (if exists) from the job queue table.

Note:
  • Domain Separation cannot be activated on production instances that contain customer data.

  • Once the domain separation plugins are activated, you must delete the existing endpoint data that belongs to a global domain. If the existing endpoints are not deleted, and if you register the same endpoint to any other domain, the data will be reflected in the global domain as well.

  • User and Group entitlements and User Criteria are supported only within the same domains, and even it is not supported for the hierarchy(Parent-child) of the domains.
