Several other CCI configuration options are necessary or useful for configuring or extending all CCI deployments.
Configuring CCI using the Command Line Interface
CCI provides a command line interface that enables users to access the CCI API. The CCI command line interface supports all UI actions as well as a number of additional actions not supproted by the UI. Administrators can manually configure CCI resources using a Command Line Interface (CLI). To use the CLI, the administrator downloads and configures a kubectl plug-in that CCI provides. See Using the Command Line Interface to perform Supervisor Namespace tasks.
In addition, there are cases in which admin users might need to use the Aria Automation API to support CCI functionality.
Working with cloud accounts for use with CCI
Both new and existing users can create cloud accounts for use with CCI. When the Developer Exerience is executed for new users, it creates a default cloud account for a cloud connected vCenter. CCI admin users can create additional cloud accounts using either the Aria Automtion UI or the API. Existing users who do not use the Developer Experience must create both their initial cloud account and any subsequent cloud accounts that they need using one of the methods in Aria Automation as referenced below.
- To create a cloud account using the VMware Aria Automation UI, Create a cloud account for a cloud connected vCenter in Automation Assembler.
- To create a cloud account using the VMware Aria Automation API, see Create a vSphere+ cloud account for a cloud connected vCenter.
The added cloud account cannot be edited or deleted, but you can edit and delete additional cloud accounts.
