You can use the Service Provider Admin Portal to grant to your sub-providers NSX edge clusters.

Starting with VMware Cloud Director 10.6, organizations can have sub-provider rights and capabilities that allow them to manage their own tenants. See Overview of VMware Cloud Director Administration. As a service provider, you can grant resources to your sub-providers that they can manage. One of the resources you can grant are NSX edge clusters.

You cannot grant NSX Data Center for vSphere backed edge clusters to sub-provider organizations.

You can also use the VMware Cloud Director Tenant Portal to grant NSX edge clusters to a sub-provider organization. You can start the wizard by selecting Administration from the primary left navigation panel, and from the secondary left panel, select NSX-T Edge Clusters.

Prerequisites

Procedure

  1. From the primary left navigation panel, select Resources, and from the page top navigation bar, select Infrastructure Resources.
  2. From the secondary left navigation panel, under NSX-T, select NSX-T Edge Clusters.
The list displays the imported edge clusters.
  3. Click the name of an edge cluster, and from the page-level left navigation, select Grants.
  4. Click New.
  5. Enter a name and, optionally, a description for the edge cluster that you want to grant to a sub-provider.
The name will be visible to the sub-provider.
  6. Click Next.
  7. Select the sub-provider which you want using the edge cluster, and click Next.
  8. Review the edge cluster grant information, and click Finish.

What to do next

To edit or delete a grant, on the Grants page, click the vertical ellipsis () next to the edge cluster grant name, and click Edit or Delete. You can edit only the name and description of an edge cluster grant.
