As a cloud administrator, if your environment has no Internet connectivity, you provide a local content library where you manually upload Tanzu Kubernetes releases (TKr) and associate it with the Supervisor.
Deploying NVIDIA-aware AI workloads on TKG clusters requires the use of the Ubuntu edition of Tanzu Kubernetes releases.
Caution: The TKr content library is used across all vSphere namespaces in the Supervisor when you provision new TKG clusters.
Note: This documentation is based on
VMware Cloud Foundation 5.2.1. For information on the
VMware Private AI Foundation with NVIDIA functionality in
VMware Cloud Foundation 5.2, see
VMware Private AI Foundation with NVIDIA Guide for VMware Cloud Foundation 5.2.
Prerequisites
- Verify that VMware Private AI Foundation with NVIDIA is configured up to this step of the deployment workflow. See Preparing VMware Cloud Foundation for Private AI Workload Deployment.
Procedure
- Download the Ubuntu-based TKr images with the required Kubernetes versions from https://wp-content.vmware.com/v2/latest/.
- For a VMware Cloud Foundation 5.2.1 instance, log in to the vCenter Server instance for the management domain at https://<vcenter_server_fqdn>/ui as [email protected].
- In the vSphere Client side panel, click Private AI Foundation.
- In the Private AI Foundation workflow, select Cloud disconnected at the top and click the Set Up Workload Management section.
- Create a local content library for TKr and import the TKr images there.
See Create a Local Content Library (for Air-Gapped Cluster Provisioning). The wizard in the guided deployment workflow is the same as the analogous wizard in the Content Libraries area of the vSphere Client.
- Add the content library to the Supervisor.
- In the vSphere Client side panel, click Workload Management.
- Navigate to the Supervisor for AI workloads.
- On the Configure tab, select General.
- Next to the Tanzu Kubernetes Grid Service property, click Edit.
- On the General page that appears, expand Tanzu Kubernetes Grid Service, and next to Content Library, click Edit.
- Select the content library with the TKr images and click OK.
