You start VMware Aria Operations by first powering on the virtual machines of the analytics cluster and VMware Cloud Proxies, then bringing the cluster online in the VMware Aria Operations user interface.

Procedure

  1. Log in to the management domain vCenter Server at https://<management_vcenter_server_fqdn>/ui by using an account with Administrator privileges.
  2. In the VMs and templates inventory, expand the management domain vCenter Server tree and expand the management domain data center.
  3. Power on the virtual machines of the VMware Aria Operations analytics cluster.
    1. Find the first analytics virtual machine in the inventory.
    2. Right-click the virtual machine and select Power > Power on.

      This operation takes several minutes to complete.

    3. Repeat the steps for the remaining analytics virtual machines.
  4. Repeat Step 3 to power on the virtual machines of the VMware Cloud Proxy for VMware Aria Operations appliances.

  5. Log in to the VMware Aria Operations administration interface at https://<aria_operations_fqdn>/admin with a user assigned the Administrator role.
  6. On the System status page, click Bring Cluster Online.

    This operation takes about an hour to complete according to the number of sources that VMware Aria Operations monitors.

  7. Verify the operational state of VMware Aria Operations.
