In the Rack section of the Order VMware Cloud on Dell EMC SDDC form, you can select a standard rack model with default configurations.

Procedure

  1. Log in to the VMware Cloud Services Console at https://console.cloud.vmware.com/csp/gateway/discovery.
  2. Launch the VMware Cloud on Dell EMC service.
  3. Expand your SDDC and click Continue Order.
The SDDC order form opens at the section where you last left.
  4. Under Select SDDC deployment type, select the Order and install a standard VMware Cloud on Dell EMC rack check box.
  5. Under Select a rack configuration, review the rack configurations, and select one of the following rack models:
    • R2.220V (Single-phase)
    • R2.220V (Three-phase)
  6. Provide the following information:
    1. Power source location: Select Ceiling or Floor based on where your power source is located.
    2. Max rack population: Specify the number of hosts per rack based on your requirement.
In each rack, a reserve or backup host is included. Therefore, the number of usable hosts is always one lesser than the number of hosts you specify.
The number of hosts that you specify allows VMware to:
      • Gather information about your rack specifications accurately. By default, your rack is built to its maximum capacity
      • Calculate the number of hosts your SDDC can accommodate and the number of racks you need
  7. Review and confirm that you meet the rack requirements at your location by selecting the following check boxes:
    • Extension cord

If the distance between the power source location and your rack is more than 6 feet, you must provide an extension cord.

    • Rack Dimension
    • Power
    • Environment
For more information on the rack specifications, see Datasheet.
  8. Click Save and Continue.
