When running a recovery plan for failover or failback, VMware Live Cyber Recovery might customize a Windows VM's guest OS based on the plan configuration.
Because VM snapshots are not suitable to run immediately after a failover or failback operation, VMware Live Cyber Recovery might need to take an extra snapshot of a Windows VM, customize the guest OS, and restart the VM.
Customizations that might occur to a Windows VM during failover or failback include:
- IP address remapping to set IP addresses to the values defined in the plan mappings.
- Virtual network changes to accommodate network mapping rules.
- Compute resources changes to ensure sufficient system resources to run the VM.
