Discovering an instance of the Router class

1. In the Domain Manager Administrative Console, select TEST_SERVER_RM in the Manager drop-down list.

2. Initiate discovery.

3. Select Topology > Add Agent.

4. Type either the name or IP address of the router.

   The VMware Smart Assurance IP Management Suite Discovery Guide describes various methods of discovery.

5. Verify that the router has been added to the topology as an instance of the Router class. The initial value of the new SM_SerialNumber attribute will be “NotAvailable” as shown in Router discovered with the SM_SerialNumber attribute in TEST_SERVER_RM.

6. Select TEST_SERVER_P in the Manager drop-down list and verify that the router has been added to the topology.

7. Select TEST_SERVER_A in the Manager drop-down list and verify that the router has been added to the topology.
