To use Java Web Start with the Web Console, specify the following URL or select its icon if Java Web Start is installed.

To download and install Java Web Start:

  1. Start your browser and point it at the following URL:

    http://
					
						<Tomcat
               _
               host>:8080/webconsole/globalConsoleCached.html

  2. Optionally, select the option to download and install the Java Web Start product and the application.

    A Java Web Start icon will install on your desktop or your Start menu. To start the Web Console after this, click this icon.

  3. Log in as described in “Logging on and attaching to a Manager” on page 47.

    If you do not have Java Web Start installed, you might be prompted to use an automatic installer or be directed to a Sun Microsystems web page, depending upon your operating system or browser.
