Polling groups for IP phones are used by VoIP Availability Manager to monitor the availability of discovered Avaya Cisco, or Nortel IP phone instances. VoIP Availability Manager monitors the instances by probing the SNMP tables on the devices that are hosting the IP phones or by processing traps.

Default IP Phone groups lists the default IP phone polling groups, their matching criteria, and their settings. The matching-criteria target class for VoIP application polling groups is IPPhone.
