During the discovery process, VoIP Availability Manager automatically discovers the VoIP topology in the managed environment. Upon discovering the topology, VoIP Availability Manager builds a data model in its repository representing the discovered topology objects and their relationships.
VoIP Availability Manager discovers VoIP-specific objects based on the device topology initially imported from the IP Availability Manager source or sources. The device topology consists of device objects and device containment objects.
Upon sending SNMP polls, SOAP requests, and CLI commands (Nortel only) to the devices to discover the VoIP topology, VoIP Availability Manager builds the discovered topology in its repository and relates the discovered VoIP topology to the device topology discovered by IP Availability Manager.
