Deploy and Configure the Resource vCenter Server Instance

This section describes how to deploy and configure the resource vCenter Server instance on the management vSAN datastore TCI_MGMT_vSAN_DS.

Prerequisites

• Download a copy of the vCenter Server installer ISO file and mount the installer ISO on a local drive.

• Ensure that the Management vCenter Server is installed and configured.

• Verify that the FQDN of the resource vCenter Server is registered in the DNS server for forward and reverse lookup. Verify that the FQDN and IP can be resolved.

• NTP server is installed and configured.

Procedure

1. Install the Resource vCenter Server Instance.
2. Create the Edge Cluster.
3. Create the Resource Cluster.
4. Create the Edge vSphere Distributed Switches.
5. Create the Resource vSphere Distributed Switches.
6. Create the Edge Cluster vSAN Datastore.
7. Create the Resource Cluster vSAN Datastore.
8. Configure the Resource and Edge Clusters for vSphere DRS.
9. Configure the Resource and Edge Clusters for vSphere HA.
10. Configure the Resource vCenter Server HA.
