The RemotePing External Setting is available to the following four remote ping groups: PE to CE, PE to PE, PE to Unmanaged CE, and PE to VRF. The setting serves two purposes:

  • Provides a means of testing the remote ping instrumentation and analysis functionality of MPLS Manager.

  • Provides a means for MPLS Manager to import remote ping status updates from an adapter, such as the Adapter for Alcatel-Lucent 5620 SAM EMS.

RemotePing External Setting parameters and their values lists the RemotePing External Setting parameters.
