Network Protocol Manager for BGP monitors BGP-enabled Cisco and Juniper devices by periodically accessing the devices by executing command line interface (CLI) commands to collect the status information needed to determine the availability of the BGP objects. CLI polling is controlled through a Polling and Thresholds Console attached to Network Protocol Manager for BGP.

The Network Protocol Manager Configuration Guide provides information about CLI commands for BGP IPv6 discovery and monitoring of Cisco and Juniper devices.
