Creating a Credential (VNX)

One of the required configuration tasks for the Management Pack is to create a set of credentials in vROps.

Prerequisites

• Installing the Management Pack (VNX)
• Pre-Configuration Tasks for Dell EMC VNX Systems

Procedure

1. Log in to vRealize Operations as an admin user.
2. Click the Administration  icon. In the left panel, click Credentials.
3. Click the Add  icon. The Manage Credential window will appear as follows:

   For VNXFile, enter the following information:

   • Credential name: Enter a name that describes the credentials you are using.
   • Primary Username: Primary Control Station Username
   • Primary Password: Primary Control Station Password
   • Secondary Username (Optional): If using a secondary Control Station, enter the associated Username.

   • Secondary Password (Optional): If using a secondary Control Station, enter the associated Password

5. VNX Block
   
   
   For VNXBlock

   • Adapter Type: EMC VNX Block Adapter
   • Credential Kind: EMC VNX Block Credentials
   • Credential name: Enter a name that describes the credentials you are using.
   • Naviseccli Username: Enter the Username associated with your Naviseccli utility.
   • Naviseccli Password: Enter the Password associated with your Naviseccli utility.
6. Click OK to save your credential.
