Known Issues

The known issues are grouped as follows.

Installation, Upgrade and Migration Issues
  • NEW: In the Deploy OVF Template wizard, you get an error on vService bindings when you deploy vSphere Replication appliance of version 8.4 and earlier

If you deploy vSphere Replication appliance of version 8.4 and earlier by using the vSphere Client, you might see a Page Unresponsive error on the vService bindings step in the Deploy OVF Template wizard. Deployment stops and ultimately fails.

Workaround: See VMware knowledge base article 88206.

Upgrade Issues
  • Patching to vCenter Server 6.5 Update 3s with a mounted ISO might fail

In certain cases, patching to vCenter Server 6.5 Update 3s by using an ISO image, mounted on a CD-ROM for example, might fail due to an issue with the Linux kernel version. In the vCenter Server Appliance interface, you see an error such as CD drives do not have valid patch iso..

Workaround: Recreate the CD-ROM device in the vCenter Server Appliance and restart the update:

    1. Log in to the vCenter Server Appliance with an SSH client and root credentials.
    2. Execute the command: rm /dev/sr0; sleep 5; mknod /dev/sr0 b 11 0; chown root:cdrom /dev/sr0; chmod 660 /dev/sr0
    3. Mount the vCenter Server 6.5 Update 3s ISO image and restart the update.
