To use VMware Cloud Flex Storage, you must activate a storage region in which you have SDDCs deployed (or where you plan to deploy them).
Part of setting up VMware Cloud Flex Storage requires authorizing the service to connect to VMware Cloud on AWS.
- Authorize the creation of an OAuth app during VMware Cloud Flex Storage setup, which will allow VMware Cloud Flex Storage to connect to VMware Cloud Services.
- Existing users only: If you are a legacy customer, you might need to authorize the creation of an OAuth app to link VMware Cloud Flex Storage to your VMware Cloud on AWS Organization. For more information, see recreate the global OAuth app.
You only need to allow the creation of the OAuth app once, on first deployment. All subsequent VMware Cloud Flex Storage region deployments will not require this authorization. If this OAuth app is deleted or changed, you must Reauthorize Access for VMware Cloud Flex Storage to create a new OAuth app.
Your user account must have the Organization Owner and Global Console Admin roles to authorize the OAuth app needed for connecting VMware Cloud Flex Storage with VMware Cloud on AWS.
