A DSM administrator manages and monitors system-wide VMware Data Services Manager settings from the Settings view. These settings include the following:

  • Tanzu Network configuration
  • Object storage repositories for Database backup storage and logs configurations
  • SMTP email configuration
  • LDAP configuration
  • Log forwarding to a Syslog server
  • Webhook configuration
  • VM settings

Supported Actions

Actions that you can perform from the Settings view include:

Configure Tanzu Network Configure the token that VMware Data Services Manager uses to access Tanzu Network.
Configure Storage Settings Configure the repository that VMware Data Services Manager uses for local storage of available database templates and software updates.
Configure Provider Backup Settings Configure the repository that VMware Data Services Manager uses to store backups of the Provider internal database.
Configure Provider Log Storage Configure the repository that VMware Data Services Manager uses for storing generated log bundles.
Configure SMTP Settings Configure an SMTP server for VMware Data Services Manager system emails.
Configure LDAP Settings Configure an LDAP server for user import into VMware Data Services Manager.
Configure Log Forwarding Configure Log forwarding for log aggregation and analysis.
Manage VM Password View and change passwords of the DSM provider VM.
Configure Webhook Settings Configure Webhook settings of the notification destinations of database alerts.
