NSX Migration for Cloud Director Tool Overview
The NSX Migration for VMware Cloud Director tool migrates the NSX Data Center for vSphere organization VDC(s) to NSX-T Data Center organization VDC(s). During the migration process, NSX-T Data Center edge nodes act as a bridge between the source and destination organization VDC networks. The bridge ensures network layer 2 connectivity exists during the migration process.
Note Bridging is not necessary for organization VDC networks that are directly connected to VLAN backed external networks.
IP addresses, routing, and other networking services are also migrated from the source to target edge gateway(s) for minimum North-South network traffic disruption.
