This procedure explains how to configure NSX logical networking with standard mode.
Procedure
- Configure the following NSX components:
- Transport Zones (Std Overlay and Std VLAN). See Create Transport Zones.
- IP Pools for TEP. See Create an IP Pool for Tunnel End Points IP Addresses.
- Uplink profiles. See Create Uplink Profiles.
- Transport Node Profile. See Add a Transport Node Profile.
- Configure NSX for Resource Cluster ESXi hosts. See Prepare ESXi Cluster Hosts as Transport Nodes.
- Deploy and configure the NSX Edge Transport node. See Create an NSX Edge Transport Node.
- Configure NSX Edge Cluster. See Create an NSX Edge Cluster.
- (Optional) Install and Configure a Bare Metal Edge.
- Create NSX segments.
- Create and configure Logical Routers.
- Create a Tier-0 Logical Router and configure the uplink interface.
- Configure BGP peering with the ToR switch and enable Route Redistribution.
- Create a Tier-1 Router and attach it to the Tier-0 Router.
- Configure Downlink interfaces on the Tier-1 Router for the segments.
- Configure Route Advertisement on the Tier-1 Router.
