The Maintenance and Business Impact Manager (MBIM) is a separate service and server, and must be started so that the Business Impact Manager works correctly.

As part of the MBIM configuration, the Service Assurance Manager server must be added as the topology source for the MBIM server. Data imported when the Global Manager is added as a topology source identifies the data imported by the Maintenance and Business Impact Manager server when the Global Manager is added as a topology source to the Maintenance and Business Impact Manager server.
