Component signature is a set of identification attributes of a process, which can be used to classify under a component type. A component signature uses process name or service name, executable path along with command line arguments as regular expressions to uniquely classify a process into components.
Application Transformer for VMware Tanzu internally discovers components from the list of running processes using component signatures. You can navigate to to view a list of component types which can be discovered during Introspection on the Component Signatures and Filters page.
